Gather us in... Want to learn more about how teens can contribute to Sunday liturgy? Any 8th – 12th graders who would like to more actively participate in Mass are invited to check out the Youth Music Ensemble. All are welcome—musical experience optional! The Youth Ensemble practices Wednesday afternoons, and leads the congregation in music ministry at the 5:15 Mass on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of each month. Sunday, Sunday, SUNDAY! What you’ve been waiting for all summer starts next week! Beginning September 7, Youth Ministry kicks off our new and improved 5:15 PM Youth Masses, followed with pizza dinner and Youth Group 6:30-8:30 PM in the youth ministry room. NEW THIS YEAR, we begin a new MIDDLE SCHOOL YOUTH GROUP for all 6-8th graders meeting on the first and third Sundays of each month (Senior High Youth Group Continues to meet on the second and fourth Sundays). All are welcome—bring a friend!
Ever wanted to be one of the scripture readers at Sunday Mass?
St. John's is looking for Confirmed Teens (current 8th grade or older) to learn how to lector for Youth Masses and other scheduled masses. This is a great way to show our parish community the faithful face of the youth of our Church in action! Youth Lector Training is scheduled this month, Thursday September 4, 7 PM, and Saturday September 13, 10 AM; Both trainings will be held in the Church at St. John’s.

Got faith? Love sports? Come check out our Frassati Club, meeting Saturday morning September 6 and September 20, from 8:00 to 11:00 AM. We begin with mass, snacks, then head outside to play soccer, Frisbee, kickball, football… whatever! We share time in prayer together, discuss faith issues, and have fun with active games together—All are welcome, so come join the fun!
LIV Club Returns!
Open to all kids 6-8th grade, the LIV club meets on the first Friday of each month from 5 – 6:15 PM to plan vocations projects for the youth of the area. This year, we will plan for Men in Black Basketball, Movie Night LIVe, and Walk-a-LIVe. Join us this Friday, September 5th as we generate ideas for the ½ time show for Men in Black basketball. We gather at 5:00 in the youth room and end by 6:15 in the church. The club is sponsored by the vocations committee under the guidance of youth ministry. Worthy of the Call Training is offered Monday September 8, 7-9PM, in the Youth Room. This is for all youth (14-18 years old) who are volunteering in any capacity of ministries here at St. John’s. Youth who attend the Worthy of the Call video training are certified trained on the Archdiocesan abuse-prevention and child-protection policies. Wash for Life: Have your car washed AND support crisis pregnancy centers!! Saturday September 13, 9AM TO 1PM, the YOUTH OF Saint John's and Our Lady of the Fields TEAM UP to clean your car right here in the St John parking lot!! NO SET CHARGE-- instead, donations will be gratefully collected for area pregnancy crisis centers. See you there!
