Enrollment Procedures

Applications for the following school year may be submitted on a rolling basis. Acceptance letters are mailed after re-registration of current students is completed in February. Applications for the current school year can be submitted at any time.

Children must be age 4 for PreSchool, age 5 for Kindergarten, and age 6 for Grade 1 by September 1.

The Short Form of the Stanford 10 Standardized Test is administered to applicants for Grades 4 through 8 for the purpose of placement in the areas of Literature and Math .

Prerequisites: Pre School through Grade 8
Registration Form completed

Copy of:

• Birth Certificate
  
• Sacramental Certificate/s (where applicable)
  
• Social Security Card
  
• Latest Report Card (Grades 1-8) or Pre School Progress Report (Grade K)
  
• Latest Standardized Test Results (if applicable)
  
• Latest Educational/Developmental Test Results (speech, IEP, 504 Plan, etc.
  
• Information Sheet completed (Grades 1 through 8)
  
• Non-refundable Registration Fee of $100 per applicant

Order of Acceptance
Children will be accepted for grades PK-8 on the basis of testing and grade openings in the following order:

1. Siblings of students already attending St. John the Evangelist School
2. Children of St. John the Evangelist registered Parishioners.
3. Children of registered Parishioners in other parishes where there is no school.
4. Children of registered Parishioners in other parishes where there is an existing school.
5. Baptized Christians of other Faiths.
6. Non-Baptized children

If the need arises, the length of time the family has been registered in the parish, along with their level of involvement and commitment to the parish, will be considered. This will apply to the acceptance of students in grades PK to 8.

In exceptional circumstances, the Principal, in consultation with the Pastor, shall have the authority to make exceptions to the Acceptance Policy set forth above. All exceptions to the policy shall be documented and filed for future reference.

It is the policy of the Archdiocesan School Board that Catholic Schools in the Archdiocese of Baltimore shall not discriminate on the basis of race, color and/or national ethnic origin in the administration of their educational policies.
