Family Masses and Children's Liturgy of the Word Engage Children in Sacred Worship

Looking for a family-friendly experience at church? Want your children to become more engaged in sacred worship? During the school year our 9 AM and 10:45 AM Masses will offer two formats to accommodate families, especially those with young children.

Family Masses:  The Family Mass is offered periodically throughout the year, particularly on Christmas Eve and Easter Sunday, and announced in the bulletin. Family Masses will usually feature the Children’s Choir and the homily will be geared towards children, yet it will be meaningful for adults. Youth are encouraged to serve as Greeters, Lectors, Gift Bearers & Ushers. We are looking for assistance from children of all ages. There is also a need for adults to be part of the planning committee. Contact Jeanette Middleton Sudano at Jeanette.Middleton@comcast.net.

Children's Liturgy of the Word: Most Sundays during the school year we offer Children's Liturgy of the Word at the 9 AM and 10:45 AM Masses except when a Family Mass is scheduled. Following the Collect (Opening Prayer) children aged 4-9 will be offered the opportunity to be dismissed to "break open the Word of God" in the Gathering Space Meeting Room in a format that is age-appropriate. In order to prepare for this, we are looking for adult volunteers to help with the teaching and assisting for the program each week. If you are interested and have completed the STAND training please contact Casey Buckstaff at Casey.Buckstaff@gmail.com. We ask that families of children under the age of 4 take advantage of our Child Care option and not send toddlers to Children's LIturgy of the Word.

Child Care: Child care is offered for children ages 1-4 at the 9 & 10:45 AM Masses each Sunday in the lower level of the Parish Center (building directly behind the church - Enter through the side door). Staffed by trained child care providers, this affords parents the opportunity to attend Mass knowing that their children are being safely monitored. Children are always welcome in church.
