Filipino Prayer Group / Mass

‘Joy in the Spirit’ Prayer Group
The St. John’s ‘Joy in the Spirit’ prayer group meets weekly on Sunday evenings (except the third Sunday of each month) in the parish’s Gathering Space Meeting Room. The group is currently led by Filipino Americans, but is open to any adult, regardless of ethnic origin, who would like to experience the ‘new life’ Jesus promised to all who came to Him in faith. The prayer meeting, conducted in English, begins at 5:30 pm with the Rosary and Chaplet of Divine Mercy. The meeting continues with songs of praise and worship, general prayers of thanksgiving and intercession, personal witnessing and testimonies to God’s love and power, and personal prayers for healing and restoration in the lives of attendees. A brief period of food and fellowship follows the meeting at 7:30 pm. This is a wonderful place to personally encounter the Lord and His Spirit in a life-changing way. On the third Sunday of each month, the prayer meeting is replaced by the 2:00 pm Filipino celebration of the Holy Eucharist. Contact Agnes Nepomuceno for additional information (410-987-1694).

Filipino Celebration of the Holy Eucharist

The Filipino community at St. John sponsors an ethnic celebration of the Holy Eucharist on the third Sunday of each month at 2:00 pm in the church. The celebrant for this Mass is normally a Filipino priest stationed in the Baltimore-Washington area. The entire Eucharistic—prayers, readings and homily--is normally celebrated in Tagalog, the national language of the Philippines. Filipinos living anywhere in the Baltimore-Washington area are warmly invited to attend this very special celebration of God’s deep and abiding love for all of his sons and daughters. A time of food and fellowship follows the Eucharist celebration. Contact Agnes Nepomuceno for additional information (410-987-1694).
