Welcome to St. John the Evangelist School

Recipient of 2008 National Blue Ribbon Award

St. John's, founded in 1959, is a Catholic, co-educational, parochial school for children from kindergarten through eighth grade. The faculty consists of lay teachers and Sisters of St. Joseph. We are dedicated to providing students with a Catholic education rooted in faith and values. We foster academic excellence and address individual needs. We strive to teach and model the Gospel message, and to enable and encourage our students to achieve their potential.

Mission Statement

St. John the Evangelist School is a Roman Catholic, Kindergarten through Grade 8, parish school under the jurisdiction of the Archdiocese of Baltimore. In a community of faith and with the Gospel values of Jesus Christ, our faculty and staff work together to develop each child to the best of her/his ability, spiritually, academically, artistically, socially and physically in a nurturing environment that promotes living faith, academic excellence, leadership, and service within the Church community and society.

Weather Policy

In the event of inclement weather, St. John the Evangelist School follows the policy of the Anne Arundel County Public Schools. Click here for AA County Public School closing info due to weather conditions.

Heat Related Closing Policy

We have identified the warmest classroom in the school. If the temperature reaches 95 degrees in this room by 11 a.m., we will close at 1 p.m.
