Staff

Sister Linda has been the principal of St. John the Evangelist since August 1988. A native of Baltimore, Sister attended All Saints Elementary School and Mercy High School. She entered the Sisters of St. Joseph where she received her BS in Education from Chestnut Hill College while learning the ways of Religious Life. Sister received her Masters Degree in Education with a focus in Administration and Curriculum Development from Loyola College in Baltimore. As of June 2009, Sister completed 42 years in elementary education. Twenty-five of those years have been spent ministering to the children of St. John the Evangelist as a teacher and an administrator. Sister Linda was named 2011 Principal of the Year by the Archdiocese of Baltimore Office of Catholic Schools!

Ms. Buckstaff joined the staff at St. John in the summer of 2011. She grew up in Mount Prospect, Illinois, where she attended St. Raymond de Penafort Catholic School. Ms. Buckstaff earned her BA in History and Peace Studies at the University of Notre Dame where she was also a monogram winner and captain of the rowing team. She earned her MAT from the College of Notre Dame and is currently pursuing her doctoral degree in educational leadership. Ms. Buckstaff came to the Archdiocese of Baltimore through OperationTEACH and after two years teaching at Our Lady of Mount Carmel School, stayed on as teacher and eventually assistant principal there. She has served as assistant principal, teacher, coach, youth minister, and choir director throughout her eight years in Catholic schools.
