FOOD SERVICES
Lunch may be brought from home or purchased daily in our cafeteria. The lunch menu for the month may be found on our school website.
HEALTH SERVICES
The school health room is staffed daily by a registered nurse who provides treatment for illness and injury, administers medications, and promotes good health. Vision and hearing screening is provided yearly by Anne Arundel County for pre school, kindergarten, third grade, eighth grade, and all new students.Health examinations performed by a personal physician are required for entrance to the school. Scoliosis screening is done yearly for all students in grade seven.
GUIDANCE
The principal, assistant principal, and classroom teachers assist in personal and academic guidance.
OTHER SERVICES
St. John the Evangelist provides on-site before and after-school care for grades K-8. Morning care is available from 7:00 to 8:00 a.m.; afternoon care is available from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. The program includes homework assistance, a variety of planned activities, and a snack. The program is available to registered students on most days of scheduled school closings. Parents interested in this service register directly at school with our Extended Day Care Coordinator.
TRANSPORTATION
Ten percent of students walk to school. Crossing guards are at major intersections in the morning and afternoon to ensure safety. Ninety percent of students are transported to school by car. Parents arrange their carpools.
