School/Parent Volunteers
Parent/Teacher Partnership
All parents of the students become members of the Parent/Teacher Partnership
at the time of registration. This organization is essential for
the financial support of the school. It also provides opportunities
for parents to assist the school in a variety of capacities. General
meetings are held periodically throughout the school year.
Class Mothers and Assistants
a. assumes responsibility to make contacts throughout the year with parents for various
events.
b. arranges with teachers for holiday treats.
Teacher-Aides
a. works with individual teachers in a specific way to help the children.
Chaperones
a. assumes responsibility for group assigned to him/her; does not permit children to
switch groups.
b. does not permit children to go anywhere alone, even to the lavatory; makes arrangements
with other chaperones to provide for needs of children.
c. establishes check points and check-in times during the day to be sure all are safe and
accounted for if students are permitted flexibility.
Volunteers
We invite parents to come to school as aides, volunteers, chaperones, etc.
to share the educational programs of their children. A brief in-service training program
will acquaint you with the techniques you will use dealing with the children. |
