Learning Differences Program
We strongly believe that each student is an individual with unique talents and gifts capable of learning in her/his own way and at her/his own pace. To meet students' needs, our teachers use a variety of techniques which include the multi-sensory approach, cross-curricular instruction, technology-based activities, and cooperative learning.
In addition, our Learning Differences Program complements the educational environment by offering flexible, small group instruction to accommodate individual learning styles. There are two Language Arts teachers and one Math teacher who pull those students requiring this program.
Enrichment Program
The enrichment program at St. John's is entering its fifth year. The school has acquired a site license for renzullilearning.com. This website offers enrichment activities for all students, customized to their own personal interests. Over 15,000 activities are currently logged in the system which were carefully searched and found to be appropriate for your child. Parents have access to view their child’s profile and activities.
In addition, students who are talented readers in Grades 3 through 6 may participate in a reading enrichment program one day a week. Students who are in advanced level math classes in Grades 4 and 5 may participate in Project M3, an enrichment program for mathematics.
