  • Eucharist Adoration

Experience the Power of Eucharistic Adoration!

Every Thursday, 9p.m.- Saturdays, 8a.m. we hold weekly Adoration. Please see the link below to commit to a regular hour of adoration, to become a substitute, or to gain access to the Gathering Space to sit with Jesus after hours at any time.

  • Morning Rosary Group

Every morning after 8:30a.m. daily Mass, a group gathers informally in the church to pray the Rosary. All are welcome. Members would be happy to help you if you are not familiar with all of the prayers involved.

  • Sisterhood of the Blessed Mother

We are an informal group of women who revere the Blessed Mother, we pray the Rosary at every meeting and try to find ways to help others grow closer to Mother Mary through prayer and acts of kindness, especially helping those in need. Women of all ages and of all Christian denominations are welcome to join our group. Typically, we meet monthly, usually on a Saturday morning from 10a.m. to noon. Contact Paula Care for more information at paulacare@comcast.net.

  • Joy in the Spirit

The St. John Joy in the Spirit prayer group meets weekly on Sunday evenings (except the third Sunday of each month) in the Gathering Space Meeting Room. This is a wonderful place to personally encounter the Lord and His Spirit in a life-changing way. On the third Sunday of each month, the prayer meeting is replaced by the 2p.m. Filipino celebration of the Holy Eucharist. For more Information, please contact Agnes Nepomuceno at mtcarmelnepo@gmail.com.

  • Eucharistic Apostles of The Divine Mercy

The Eucharistic Apostles of The Divine Mercy is a Roman Catholic, non-profit lay outreach ministry. The EADM’s worldwide mission is to encourage the laity to propagate the Divine Mercy and the truth of the real presence of Jesus in the Eucharist, and then live the message in their communities. The apostolate promotes Eucharistic Adoration, together with hourly praying of The Divine Mercy Chaplet for the sick and dying.

  • Unbound Prayer Ministry

Open up the power of Jesus that sets us free, that breaks the chains of sin and spiritual oppression so that we can truly live as sons and daughters of our Heavenly Father.

  • Mountain Movers

“For truly, I say to you, if you have faith as a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible to you.” (Matt 17:20)

“For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.” (Matt18:20)

Prayer changes things but we often wish that we had someone to pray for and with us for help, healing, restoration, and grace.

Mountain Movers prayer teams are available to pray with you individually after the Sunday morning Masses and at many of our parish’s events. Please look for our designated Prayer Ministers standing at the foot of the altar after Sunday morning Masses and at our prayer table at parish events. For more information please contact: prayer@stjohnsp.org and we will get back to you to answer your questions. You may also leave a prayer request. We and our Prayer Warriors will pray for your intentions.

  • Prayer Requests

Ask, and it will be given you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For every one who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. (Matthew 7:7-8)

Prayer requests are received online at prayer@stjohnsp.org or by calling the Parish Office at 410-647-4884. This is also where you may share your answered prayers so that others will be encouraged and strengthened. You may submit requests and answered prayers anonymously if you wish. Our Prayer Warriors will be praying for you!

  • Join a Prayer Group

“Prayer. God invites us into a relationship with Him that is both personal and communal. He speaks to us through His Son, Jesus Christ, the Word-made-flesh. Prayer is our response to God who is already speaking or, better yet, revealing Himself to us. Therefore, prayer is not merely an exchange of words, but it engages the whole person in a relationship with God the Father, through the Son, and in the Holy Spirit.” (USCCB website: https://www.usccb.org/prayer-and-worship/prayers-and-devotions).

Have you ever felt called to pray for people in a deeper way? Have people told you they have felt your prayers for them? Do you want to increase your sphere of prayer for yourself and others? The Prayer Ministry team at St. John’s offers several ways to serve in our prayer ministry.

Pray with others. Mountain Movers meets each Monday from 7 - 8p.m. in the Parish Office. Here we simply pray in the presence of the Holy Spirit with and for each other, for our needs and the needs of our Parish, Community, World, collected prayer requests, and for anything the Holy Spirit places on our hearts. Members may also volunteer to pray at the foot of the altar after Mass and at other parish activities. Our group is also enriched through the sharing and discussion of inspirational books and other media.

Privately praying for others: Be a Prayer Warrior by joining an email group list that receives prayer requests sent to our Prayer at St. John’s Ministry. Faithfully pray these requests in the privacy of your own home.
