Reconciliation

Reconciliation with God is thus the purpose and effect of this sacrament. For those who receive the sacrament of Penance with contrite heart and religious disposition, reconciliation is usually followed by peace and serenity of conscience with strong spiritual consolation.

 Confession Schedule

Wednesdays 6—7p.m.

Fridays 4:30—6p.m. (+ First Fridays of the Month, 9:00—10a.m.)

Saturdays 3:30—5p.m.

Reconciliation for Children

  • • Information for First Reconciliation is distributed to current 2nd grade Faith Formation and St. John the Evangelist School families.

    • If your child is 3rd grade or older, contact the Office of Faith Formation at 410-647-4892.

  • • Families must be registered parishioners of St. John the Evangelist.

    • The child must have been enrolled for two or more years in a parish Faith Formation program or in Catholic School.

    • The child must enroll and complete the First Reconciliation preparation program designated by the parish.

  • Typically, First Reconciliation is offered on the second Saturday in December.

Reconciliation for Adults

For adults who have not received the Sacrament of Reconciliation but would be interested in doing so, please email us at OCIA@stjohnsp.org for more information. The Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA) prepares adults to join the Catholic Church who may not be baptized or were baptized in another denomination as well as prepares those baptized as Catholics but who have never received First Communion, Reconciliation, or Confirmation.
